AISIX Solutions Announces Completion of the Final Report on Probabilistic Modeling of Lava Flows and Lahars from Mount Garibaldi/ Nch'kay and the Recommendations for Guidelines for Volcanic Hazard and Risk Assessment in Canada

Aisix Solutions Inc

Vancouver, British Columbia – December 19th, 2024 – TheNewswire – AISIX Solutions Inc., (“AISIX” or “the Company”) (TSXV: AISX) (OTCQB: AISXF) (FSE: QT7), a leading climate analytics and data company, is pleased to announce that has completed the Final Report on Probabilistic Modeling of Lava Flows and Lahars from Mount Garibaldi/Nch’ḵay̓ and the Recommendations for Guidelines for Volcanic Hazard and Risk Assessment in Canada, a major component of the 2022-2025 Volcano Risk Reduction in Canada (VRRC) project (CSSP-2022-CP-2537) led by the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC).

The project Volcano Risk Reduction in Canada (VRRC) project aims is to support evidence-based decision-making about volcanic hazard and risk, by developing a hazard and risk assessment for Mount Garibaldi/Nch’ḵay̓, developing guidelines for volcanic hazard and risk assessment in Canada, and developing an operational volcano deformation monitoring system.

AISIX delivered probabilistic volcanic hazard maps, including maps for lava flow, pyroclastic density currents and volcanic landslides (lahars) hazard. These maps are the foundation for proactive risk mitigation and land planning initiatives.

AISIX also delivered a written report summarizing recommendations for the preparation of volcanic hazard and risk assessment guidelines, including a discussion of how numeric, probability-based modelling of lava flows, lahars and pyroclastic density currents may be used in hazard and risk assessments, what international guidelines may be useful, and any special considerations unique to the Canadian setting.

“The recommendations from this report will be used by Natural Resources Canada and Volcano Risk Reduction in Canada project Partners as a contribution to a comprehensive Guidelines for Volcanic Hazard and Risk Assessment in Canada.” says Dr Gio Roberti, Head of Product at AISIX.

“We are proud to have contributed to the advancement of hazard and risk assessment in Canada, helping Canadians to move towards a safer future” says Mihalis Belantis, CEO of AISIX solutions
