Cariboo Rose and BRS Resources to Commence Drilling at Cowtrail Copper-Gold Project
![]() | |||||||||
Vancouver, BC – TheNewswire - July 29, 2025 – Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. (TSXV:CRB) (“Cariboo Rose”) and BRS Resources Ltd. (“BRS”) are pleased to announce that a drill contract has been signed to begin diamond drilling at the Cowtrail Copper-Gold Project, located near the community of Horsefly in south-central British Columbia.
The 4,592-hectare Cowtrail property is strategically situated 15 kilometers southeast of Imperial Metals’ Mt. Polley Mine and borders Vizsla Copper’s Woodjam and Redgold copper-gold projects. Cariboo Rose has held full ownership of the property since 2004.
Cowtrail is positioned within the Jurassic–Triassic Quesnel Terrane, a prolific mineral belt hosting numerous copper-gold porphyry deposits. Historic reconnaissance drilling in 2007 and 2011 tested induced polarization (IP) and soil geochemical anomalies defined by earlier surveys in 1997, 2004, and 2006. This work identified a southwest-trending vector of increasing mineralization extending beyond the areas previously drilled.
Drill intercepts from those campaigns returned promising results, including 1.16 g/t gold over 18.3 meters (hole 07-DDH-1) and 0.17% copper with 0.11 g/t gold over 40.0 meters (hole CT11-12). Subsequent soil surveys in 2006 and 2021 outlined a gold-arsenic anomaly coinciding with a strong IP chargeability feature 1,500 meters west of the historic drill sites.
Recent Work and the 2025 Program
In 2023, Cariboo Rose completed a five-hole drill program targeting the Lea Lake and BM Breccia areas. The most significant result came from hole CT23-16, which intersected 0.15% copper over 105.0 meters, including 0.23% copper and 0.11 g/t gold over 15.0 meters.
This hole, collared 45 meters south of CT11-12, demonstrated strong continuity of mineralization and remains open to the south.
Building on this success, the 2025 drill program will focus on four new holes, each 250–300 meters deep, to further expand the mineralized footprint at Lea Lake.
BRS Resources Option Agreement
Under the terms of an option agreement dated December 19, 2022, BRS Resources may earn a 60% interest in the Cowtrail Project by:
• Funding $2,000,000 in exploration expenditures, and
• Providing $400,000 in a combination of cash payments and share issuances over a five-year period.
Upon completion of these commitments, a joint venture will be established, with BRS holding a 60% interest and Cariboo Rose retaining 40%. If Cariboo Rose’s interest is subsequently diluted below 15%, it will convert to a 2.5% net smelter return (NSR) royalty, which may be reduced to 1% through a one-time payment of $2,000,000.
